Graduate Architect – Construction

Our client is a nationwide provider of specialist design, construction and fit out solutions to a highly profitable market in Australia. They have a track record of successfully completing projects across Australia and continue to reinforce their position as a design and market leader in their field. There is a well-established and collaborative internal design team of nine currently, creating fantastic workplaces for clients.

We have been exclusively engaged to recruit a talented and creative Graduate Architect to join the team at this exciting time. This is a full time, permanent role and there is substantial opportunity for growth within the business as it expands into new markets.

Specific duties will involve.

  • Learn the design and documentation process and associated technicalities.
  • Work towards being able to complete full architectural design and documentation for construction and fit-out projects across Australia.
  • Complete projects from concept design and rendering through space planning, construction detailing to full documentation using Revit.
  • Prepare work to a high standard and adhere to all required regulations e.g. NCC, Green Star and Disability Access.
  • Liaise with external consultants, engineers and project managers. Prepare and submit detailed designs to local authorities.
  • Work as part of a dynamic and enthusiastic internal architecture team.

Due to the diverse skill set of the department, this role would most likely appeal to an architecture graduate (bachelors or masters) with 1 to 3 years of quality architectural experience gained in Australia, as well as good knowledge and/or experience with Revit. The remuneration on offer will align with your experience.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate.

  • Relevant tertiary education in architecture.
  • Quality architectural design and documentation capability and in-depth construction knowledge.
  • Rendering and 3D concept modelling skills. Experience with Revit.
  • Good understanding and application of Australian building codes and regulations.
  • Experience of working with commercial projects will be highly valued.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work hard and become an active member of an enthusiastic and professional team.
  • Eligibility to work within Australia.

The role will be based at the Melbourne office close to Southern Cross station with weekly/fortnightly travel to the Geelong office. There may be occasional travel to client locations across Victoria/Australia.
