Our client is a nationwide provider of specialist design, construction and fit out solutions to a highly profitable niche market in Australia. They have a track record of successfully completing projects across Australia and continue to reinforce their position as a design and market leader in their field. They have a talented and well-established internal design team of six currently, creating fantastic workplaces for clients.

Due to a sustained increase in the number of projects as well as a strategic focus on continuing to improve design capability, we have been exclusively engaged to recruit a talented and creative Senior Architect to join the team in a leadership role and take responsibility for the entire design process for clients. This is a full time, permanent role and there is substantial opportunity for growth within the business by delivering modern, creative designs for client projects.

Specific duties will involve.

• Provide architectural designs for construction and fit-out projects across Australia. Manage projects across all stages from concept design to full documentation.
• Prepare work to a high standard and adhere to all required Australian regulations e.g. NCC, Green Star and Disability Access.
• Improve overall design quality of projects to create stylish and functional workspaces.  Internal and external concept development, including architectural plans, floor plans and associated services, again with a focus on quality design.
• Maintain and develop client relationships. Coordinate and attend client meetings. Present documentation packages for client review.

• Liaise with external consultants, engineers and project managers. Prepare and submit detailed designs to local authorities.
• Manage client and consultant communication and engagement.
• Mentor junior team members.

This is a key senior role in the business and as such would most likely appeal to an architect with 10 years of quality architectural experience gained in Australia. The remuneration on offer will align with your experience.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate.

• Degree or equivalent tertiary education in architecture.
• 10+ years of quality architectural experience gained in Australia. Architectural experience for retail, hospitality, commercial, office, education or healthcare projects will be especially of interest.
• Able to demonstrate design flair across projects in Australia.
• Advanced CAD/BIM skills, ideally with Revit.
• Good understanding of relevant building codes and regulations in Australia.
• Knowledge and experience of Adobe and Microsoft Office products.
• Eligibility to work within Australia.

The role will be based at the Geelong headquarters but offers genuine flexibility with regard to working from home and in the office as required. If you are living in Melbourne/interstate currently and considering a move to the Surf Coast over the next few months, this role would be an exceptional opportunity to facilitate that. There may be occasional travel to client locations across Victoria/Australia.
