Our client is a well-established and growing business offering quality commercial construction solutions to clients across Australia, with projects mainly in Melbourne and Victoria. They specialise in warehouse fitout solutions, including mezzanine floors and mezzanine offices but also provide pallet racking and warehouse shelving. They have a track record of successfully completing projects on time and to budget for clients and are continuing to grow.

We have been exclusively engaged to recruit a Project Coordinator to support a Project Manager across the full project lifecycle with a view to becoming a Project Manager when ready. This role is the result of company growth and provides an exceptional opportunity for a long-term career.

Specific duties will involve.

  • Work with and support a highly experienced Project Manager across the full project lifecycle.
  • Manage and coordinate projects by working with internal staff, organising tradespeople and managing suppliers/manufacturers. Ensure all materials, equipment and workers are planned, scheduled and delivered correctly for each project.
  • Meet clients on site to measure each site and take photos for quoting. Conduct site visits during construction phase to ensure site safety and that work is progressing according to plan.
  • Problem solving if any issues arise.
  • Manage and follow up on supplies and material deliveries. Arrange hire equipment.
  • Maintain and update project information using internal systems.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate.

  • Reasonable standard of education with either a trade qualification or a Bachelor of Construction Management or Engineering.
  • 3 years or more of onsite construction experience in Australia.
  • Could appeal to either an experienced Project Coordinator, skilled Site Manager looking to progress into project management or construction graduate with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • High level of attention to detail. Strong knowledge and application of Australian construction codes and standards. Knowledge or experience with structural or steel framing elements of construction or commercial fitout would be highly regarded.
  • Proactive with a solutions-oriented, can-do attitude. Able to communicate and interact professionally with clients, suppliers and internal team members.
  • Looking for a long-term career role.
  • Able to travel as required for projects, primarily across Melbourne but also regionally or occasionally interstate. Also visit the Ballarat office weekly or fortnightly for meetings. Australian drivers licence.
  • Eligibility to work within Australia.

This is a full time, permanent role working from home and the Melbourne office as required when not onsite or travelling. There will be travel both around Melbourne and regionally as well as occasionally interstate, for projects. There will also be weekly or fortnightly management meetings at the office in Ballarat. The company is offering an attractive remuneration package in line with experience and expectations. Base salary will be in the region of $100K to $110K plus super. Also provided is a fully maintained company ute as well as laptop and phone. This is regarded as a long-term career role with the opportunity to develop your skills and progress over time into a Project Manager role.
